Why Republicans Should Be Excited About 2010
As most of you know by know, the GOP pulled out some amazing victories Tuesday night–winning the Gubernatorial races in New Jersey and Virginia. These are huge victories for the GOP in the off year elections, and give us some momentum leading into 2010.
In my opinion, the most amazing win for us was defeating John Corzine in New Jersey. I mean here is a guy in Corzine that bought himself a U.S. Senate seat, and then turned around, spent millions and bought a place in the Governors Mansion. Comes along Christie, who ran his campaign on the issues that impact citizens in New Jersey the most. Maybe Christie’s win was a result of the failed policies of the Obama administration, and the backlash voters were sending related to the controversial health-care bill before Congress.
Pundits and politicos alike have been putting their respective spins on these two races, but the only fact that matters is the Republicans won! The GOP can now claim victory in two states that Obama won in last year’s election. A drastic shift in the political landscape is occurring in America now, and many of us involved in GOP politics are now saying that Obama could be the best thing that could have happened to Republicans.
Only time will tell, but the outlook for Republicans in 2010 is looking very good. If Republicans still to their message, stand on principle, and offer real solutions to America’s problems, we have a real opportunity for major success next year. So, a debt of gratitude to Governor Elect Christie, and Governor Elect McDonnell—thanks for paving the way for Republicans in 2010! May God Bless the Grand Ole Party!
