America Needs Some Repair Work

Every once in awhile, I need to vent a little about what I see wrong with our nation and lend my thoughts. In many ways, I don’t even know where to start because there are so many issues that need fixing in America right now. I don’t know about you, but I’m getting really sick and tired of all the nonsense that continues to come out of these politicians mouths–they need to shut-up and take some serious action!

First and foremost, I need to address the issue of unemployment in this country. With the national unemployment rate hovering around 10%, and in my hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada hitting a record high of 13.4%, this is no laughing matter! What is ridiculous is that the same people that keep saying they are doing everything they can to create jobs in this bad economy are standing in the way. When stimulus money is spent on government projects instead of helping small business owners, something is really wrong. When companies that want to invest in alternative energies are prevented from starting construction projects by fringe groups who call themselves environmentalist, we’ve got problems. Then finally, we need to ratchet up our fees on American companies who have or plan to move their operations over-seas…we must support Americans, we must buy American, and we must grow America!

The next issue that irritates me is the one about America obtaining energy independence. However, we still NOT have politicians and environmentalist standing in the way of our progress. We MUST drill for oil here in America, and we MUST build more refineries. Instead of talking about building more solar and wind power-plants, we need to actually build them and offer tax incentives to companies that invest in new technologies. In addition, many Americans are fed-up with the constant increases in their utilities rates–gas bills, and electricity bills have been on the rise for years. Many Americans along with myself are mystified at how executives at these utility companies keep getting raises and raking in excessive bonuses on the backs of tax payers! This MUST stop!

The last issue I want to bring up is immigration. Of course, this is a very controversial issue, but its lost some traction thanks to all this talk about healthcare reform. Lets make something crystal clear–the issue of immigration is NOT a racial issue, it’s a fiscal issue. Americans continue to spend tax dollars on paying for the healthcare and education of illegal citizens–how in the heck are we accepting this? With America still in a financial crisis, NOW is the time to put an end to illegal immigration into this country–illegal immigrants are a burden on our local, state, and federal tax-rolls.

While there are so many other problems our country faces right now, I wanted to shed some light on a few that I believe need immediate attention. As always, I urge our citizenry to get involved in government and politics. Write your elected officials, attend your local city council and commission meetings–call your representatives and express your opinion. Finally, when election time comes around, kick the idiots out of office who have NOT and will NOT do anything to make America a better place to live–in-action requires extraction!
